BHS AFJROTC ‘Exceed’ in Evaluation

The Air Force JROTC instructors and cadets of Branson High School earned an overall unit assessment score of “Exceeds Standards” - the highest rating attainable. The evaluation was conducted on January 10, 2022.

Instructors MSgt Quezon D. Atwood and Lt Col Crismon A. Brayman have created a dynamic and supportive learning environment coupled with excellent community outreach. The sponsors provided outstanding leadership in administering the cadet-centered citizenship program. Cadets were evaluated on academic objectives, cadet corps focus, uniform requirements, and event development and performance.

“Branson High School has also developed what may be the most active Honor Guard in the nation, as well as a well-equipped and well-led Marksmanship Team and Cyber Patriot (cyber security) Team,” says Lt Col Brayman. The Lt Col states these programs bring “focus, discipline, and camaraderie to the corps.” Pilot Training is another notable program offering, including Aviation Honors Ground School (AHGS), cadet-built flight simulators, and flight scholarship opportunities. “Units across the nation contact BHS instructors for assistance in building their Aviation/STEM programs,” says Lt Col Brayman. BHS AFJROTC have attained awards including Distinguished Unit, Distinguished Unit with Merit, and Outstanding Organization Awards.

The BHS Air Force JROTC citizenship program continues to bring the best of options and opportunities to Branson’s students, while making a positive impact on the cadets, the school, and the Branson community.
