Around a dozen agencies assisted in fighting a Hay Barn Fire in Christian County near the Stone County line Wednesday afternoon.
According to a post from the Highlandville Rural Fire Protection District, the barn, located near the south intersection of Highway 13/160 and Highway 176, was fully engulfed when Firefighters arrived on the scene. According to the post, over 800 bales of Hay were in the barn that was a total loss due to the fire.
Firefighters from Southern Stone County, Western Taney County, and the North Stone/Northeast Barry County Fire Districts were among those assisting the Highlandville District with battling the blaze. Eventually the blaze was allowed to burn itself out.
No injuries were reported though smoke from the fire did reduce visibility on nearby roads into Wednesday evening.
