The heavy rain that moved through the region Monday causes several road closures as well as a school bus which got stuck on a flooded roadway.
The incident happened in Douglas County where Sheriff Chris Degase tells Ozarks First that an Ava School District Bus got stuck on a County Road when the driver did not realize that part of the road had been washed out due to heavy rain. The bus carrying two students got stuck in a hole and was unable to move out. According to Degase, the driver was able to get the students off the bus and to safety without incident.
Despite the rain subsiding by the end of Monday morning, the Missouri Department of Transportation still reports several roads still closed in both Douglas and Ozark Counties due to high water.
