A woman working with the Recovery Center of the Ozarks in Harrison explains how Art as Therapy can help people help themselves.
Sandy Moss helps guide people through the process as part of regular classes. Moss appeared recently on KHOZ's "Around the Table" program to talk about how this therapy works. Moss says the idea is to get people to work through trauma and other experiences. Moss explains that this is not Art Therapy, which is a specific course of treatment done by a trained Psychiatrist or Psychologist, rather a program where she guides people into tapping into the artistic part of the brain to allow for self healing.
Moss works through Recovery Center of the Ozarks plus has her own programs to guide people interested in trying Art as Therapy.
