Explore Harrison's Balloon Fest has 18 balloons this year, according to Explore Harrison's Matt Bell.
That's an increase from last year's 13 balloons. Bell appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" to talk about the event. It's a Hot Air Balloon State Championship. While balloons will fly Friday through Sunday, Saturday and Sunday are the competition days.
Before the gates open, six balloons will take flight on Friday at about to 7:45 a.m. That will happen behind the middle school. Bell explained that it's part of an effort to get advertising for the event at no cost. From food to music and more, it will have something for everyone.
Bell said a "kids' zone" will have a bounce house. That's on Saturday for $5, but kids can enjoy games on Friday. Gates will open at 4 p.m. on Friday.
Later, Bell mentioned that attendees can enjoy a helicopter ride. Additional information is online. More was discussed on the broadcast.
The full interview with Bell is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
