The Harrison Police Department takes to Social Media to warn of another scam.

The full release from the department is below:

We have received reports of a scam text being sent to multiple residents claiming to be a “Final Court-Ordered Mandatory Collection Notice” for “Failure to pay Electronic Toll / Toll Evasion.” The message appears to reference Pulaski County and a judge’s name, but does NOT list any fine amount and directs recipients to scan a QR code in the lower-left corner.

Important — THIS IS A SCAM:
Courts do NOT notify people of fines or orders by sending texts that require scanning a QR code.
Do NOT click links or scan QR codes from unverified messages.
Do NOT provide personal, financial, or payment information in response to these messages.
If you receive this message:
Do not interact with it (do not click links or scan the QR).
Delete the message.
Report it to the attorney general's office and contact your local law enforcement so we can get the word out to our community .
