A Girl Scout Troop gives a percentage of their cookie sales to an area school foundation.

The press release below is from the Hollister School District:

Small but mighty, Girl Scout Troop 71762 is already making a big impact. Now in its second year, the troop has shown that dedication and community spirit know no size limits. On Monday, the troop presented the Hollister Schools Foundation with a $110 donation—20% of their 2025 cookie sales proceeds—to help support the Foundation’s efforts in serving students and staff throughout the Hollister School District.

Through the Girl Scout cookie program, the scouts learn goal-setting, money management, and teamwork. The funds they raise not only support badge earning and STEM exploration but also allow them to give back to causes close to home. This year, the troop set a goal to support their local schools, and they proudly reached it.

“We are so grateful for this generous donation,” said Hollister Schools Foundation Treasurer Denise Olmstead. “It’s incredibly heartwarming and encouraging to see these young girls learning the importance of serving others and choosing to give back to their community. The fact that they chose the Foundation means so much to us, and we’re honored to be part of their journey.”

In addition to fundraising, Troop 71762 has participated in public service projects and educational field trips that help the girls build confidence, learn valuable life skills, and have fun along the way. Their commitment to giving back reflects the heart of the Hollister community.
