Are Drought Conditions Completely Gone from the Lakes Region?

The latest report from the U.S. Drought Monitor shows the Lakes Region as close to drought free as it has been in months.

The latest data, completed before heavy rains impacted parts of the Lakes Region on Wednesday, shows the area south and east of a Berryville-Omaha line at an Abnormally Dry Level while the rest of the Lakes Region, including the Branson area, is not showing any drought level.

Rains that hit the area in June plus early July showers have brought the levels down over the last month, including areas of northern Arkansas that were at the highest drought level when June began.

While the trend has continued, the current forecast calls for little or no rain plus very hot conditions over the next seven days.
