Scammers have another trick up their sleeves, and that's claiming they can help one recover losses from previous scams, according to a post by the Branson Police Department.

Scam Alert
The FBI has alerted us to a new scam involving fraudsters impersonating officials from the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3). These scammers are reaching out through email, social media, and messaging apps—sometimes using fake names like “Chief Director Jaime Quin”—claiming they can help recover money lost in previous scams. But it's all part of the con. These imposters are only after more of your money and personal information.
The IC3 does NOT initiate contact with victims, charge fees, or refer you to third parties. If someone claiming to be from IC3 reaches out to you directly, it’s a scam.
Remember: Legitimate government agencies, including the FBI, IC3, DOR and others, will never contact you out of the blue or ask for money or personal details through unofficial channels.
Report suspicious contact at www.ic3.gov. Seniors 60+ can also call the DOJ’s Elder Justice Hotline at 1-833-FRAUD-11.
