An area Law Enforcement Agency’s Work Zone Enforcement Campaign ends up seeing over three dozen motorists receiving a citation.
Tuesday, the Ozarks Police Department focused efforts on the Highway 65 Work Zone where the Missouri Department of Transportation is expanding the highway to three lanes in both directions. While Ozark officials post in a release that they do patrol the area on a regular basis, the added officers that day ended up pulling over 37 motorists for exceeding the 55 MPH Work Zone Speed Limit. The release goes on to say most of the motorists pulled over were exceeding the speed limit by 15-20 MPH.
MODOT says the widening should be completed this November.
