Virginia Ann Meek, age 83, passed away on January 2, 2026.
Virginia Ann Meek, age 83, of Golden, Missouri passed away Friday, January 2, 2026 at her home.
She was born August 3, 1942 in Pickens, Oklahoma the daughter of James and Mary Jane (McCauley) Dagenhart. On January 20, 1959 in Hugo, Oklahoma she was united in marriage to Phynes Lee Meek, who preceded her in death on January 2, 2016. Also preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, James, Gerald, Donald, Edwin “Ned,” Doris, Robert and Glenn and sisters, Patricia Baggs, Helen Bartlett and Alice Bell.
Surviving are her sons, Tony Meek of Nixa, Kurt Meek of Golden and Kent Meek of Bridge, Oregon; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Virginia grew up and attended school in Battiest, Oklahoma graduating from Battiest High School in 1959. She later attended Southern Oregon University where she attained a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Education, later earning her Doctorate in Education. Virginia had lived in this area for 26 years coming from Medford, Oregon. She taught school in Green Forrest, Arkansas for several years where she earned the honor of teacher of the year during the 2004–2005 school year. Virginia was an investor and managed several properties. She enjoyed reading and working around her house, but more than anything she loved her grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Golden Baptist Church.
No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
