Thomas C. Riggs, age 82, Hollister, Missouri
Thomas C. Riggs, age 82, passed away July 28, 2023, in Hollister, Missouri. He entered this life February 13, 1941, the son of James and Gladys (Peterson) Riggs in Evanston, Illinois.
Thomas proudly served our country in the United States Navy. He was a master at the grill and greatly enjoyed time barbequing and grilling. Thomas was self-employed most of his adult life. He has owned Riggs TV and Appliances in Barrington, Illinois; TC Riggers bar and grill in Rhinelander, Wisconsin; and Smokey Tom's BBQ food trailer in Branson, Missouri. Thomas was an avid tinkerer, always the handyman, and loved collecting tools. The memories and moments created with his loved ones over the last eighty-two years will be cherished forever.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, James Riggs Jr.
He is survived by his sons: Corbin (Carrie) Riggs of DeKalb, Illinois, and Matthew (Elizabeth) Riggs of Park Ridge, Illinois; grandchildren: Carson (Dakota) Riggs of Mount Morris, Illinois, Brenden (Erica) Riggs of Sycamore, Illinois, Madeleine Riggs of Park Ridge, Illinois, Ethan Riggs in the US Army, and Nicholas Riggs of Park Ridge, Illinois; one great-grandson, Grayson Riggs of Mount Morris, Illinois; longtime friend, Mary Whiteside of Rhinelander, Wisconsin; and Linda Riggs of Crystal Lake, Illinois.
