Donald Proulx

Donald Proulx, age 82, passed away on February 27, 2026.

Donald Proulx, a cherished soul known for his kindness and adventurous spirit, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026, in Branson, Missouri. Born on June 7, 1943, in Washington, D.C., to Donald Sr. and Gertrude Proulx.

Donald attended early education at Kenmore Jr. High and continued on through to graduate from Wakefield High School. After high school, he proudly served his country by joining the Navy, an experience that gave him a character in sacrifice and in service.

Upon returning to civilian life, Donald found a career as a meat cutter at his local grocery store. His work was not just a job but a means to connect with his community. Later on he was trained as an anesthesiologist tech at Largo Hospital in Florida where he retired.

Donald found his Christian faith which became a building block to a better road in life and a very valuable tool to help those vulnerable in life.  He became involved with A.A. not to just to help himself but to those that he met in the group.  This was enriched by his marriage to his dear wife Nancy Carol (Harrison) in 2008, who gave him great joy and strength through life's trials and triumphs. He lived his beliefs through acts of kindness and by caring for those around him.

An avid lover of the open road, Donald did not miss the opportunity to seek out new adventures with Nancy by his side. Together, they traversed the country, creating treasured memories that would last a lifetime. Donald's passion for running and swimming kept him active and could bring him closer to nature’s beauty.

Above all, Donald was a loving husband to Nancy, a loving figure to his granddaughter Atlantis Harper, and a friend to many. His ability to forge deep and meaningful friendships was unmatched, and his legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents and one brother Richard Proulx.

Donald is survived by his wife, Nancy Proulx of Branson; step son, Fredrick J. Harper of Branson, MO; granddaughter, Atlantis Victoria Harper; and his brother Mark Proulx and sister-in-law Carolyn Proulx of Sparta, NJ.

Memorial services will be held at Sycamore Log Church at a later date. Arrangements are through Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory in Branson.
