One woman is dead, and a juvenile injured after a car strikes livestock on a highway in Ozark County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the crash took place around 10:00 Monday night when the vehicle driven by Holly Cook of Norwood struck a cow that was on Highway 5 northwest of Gainesville. Cook was pronounced dead at the scene while a 10-year-old male in the vehicle was taken by Air Ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for treatment.
This is the 11th fatality in crashes worked by Troop G of the Missouri State Highway Patrol in 2023.
