An annual event that both honors and reaches out to Veterans takes place this weekend.
Branson Veterans of America 913 will host its annual Veterans Appreciation Day & Car Show on Saturday at the Branson Meadows Event Center on Gretna Road in Branson. The community event is designed to honor area veterans while connecting them and their families with organizations offering assistance, benefits information and other resources.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with car-show registration beginning at 9 a.m. Admission to Veterans Appreciation Day is free and open to the public.
Representatives from government and private organizations will be available to help veterans with questions about benefits, disabilities, Veterans Service Officers and VA services. O
A catered lunch will be available for $10, with veterans eating free. The day's activities also include children's activities, food trucks and the car show.
The car show will feature a variety of vehicle classes organized around U.S. military eras, along with a military vehicle category and People's Choice award. Car-show registration is $30.
A Veterans Suicide Prevention QPR workshop is also scheduled as part of the event. Advance registration is required for the workshop, with attendance limited to 35 people.
