The Blue Eye School District continues to have the benefits of a therapy dog to support faculty, staff, and students.
Dr. Kelli Alumbaugh, beginning her third year as superintendent of the district, brought the dog named Cash with her during her recent appearance on KRZK's "Ozarks Now' program.
Alumbaugh said she had applied for a therapy dog prior to her arrival at Blue Eye through an organization that specializes in training therapy dogs. After a two year wait, Alumbaugh was given Cash and has been working in the district since March of 2025.
Alumbaugh says that Cash has had a big impact on the students, helping some of them open up and be at ease during school. Alumbaugh says Cash also has the same impact on other members of the district according to Alumbaugh, who lives with her and her husband when not at school.
Alumbaugh also talked about other things that have occurred during her first two years on the job, including building projects for Early Childhood Development, Agriculture, and a New Activities Center.
Blue Eye will begin classes for the school year on Tuesday.
