A man wanted by authorities after a shooting incident in Stone County is in Custody. 

43-year-old Mathew Washington of Crane. Washington is the suspect in a shooting that took place around 9:00 Monday night on Timerline Road in Crane. 

According to a release from the department, Deputies arrived on the scene and found a 63-year-old female with a gunshot wound to the head. She was transported to an area hospital and reported to be in stable condition. 

Washington fled on foot after the incident and was taken into custody late Tuesday morning.
