The Southern Stone County Fire Protection District raised $6,700 for the MDA Foundation, according to a post on the fire district's Facebook Page.
The Sept. 4 post states that these donations were raised during a "Fill The Boot" event. The money was given during Silver Dollar City's weekend "Southern Gospel event." The Southern Stone County Fire Protection District expressed thanks to those who decided to give.
"Thank you to the visitors and community members for their generous contributions in supporting the MDA," the post states.
