One of two people in a one-vehicle traffic crash in Barry County Monday afternoon has died.
According to the report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 57-year-old James Larson of Shell Knob was a passenger in a vehicle that crashed on Highway 39 when it failed to negotiate a curve causing the vehicle to overturn and strike a fence.
The driver of the vehicle, 46-year-old Melissa Hollie of Shell Knob, sustained moderate injuries in the crash and was taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
This is the 80th Fatality in crashes worked by Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol in 2024.
