Officials in Lamar release information about an attack that occurred outside the football stadium shortly after Friday's home game against Hollister.
Posts from both the Lamar School District and Lamar Police Department indicate the incident occurred off of school property when a Lamar student was attacked by an unknown individual at the intersection of a street near to where the Lamar Football team was heading to the Locker Room after their win over Hollister. The student attacked was taken to an area hospital and was last reported to be in stable condition.
Lamar Police goes on to say that the assault was not connected to the football game and the suspects in the incident are not from either school involved in the game. Police say one person is in custody but others are being sought in relation to the incident.
