***RESCUE***

At 07:08 this morning, Engine 21, Rescue 25 and Battalion Chief 21 were dispatched to the area of E. Minnehaha/ E. Muskego for an RV that struck a tree.

Upon arrival, crews located a full size RV down an 30' embankment with one occupant unable to get out with minor injuries. Crews immediately set up a rope system to make access and evaluate the patient.

Due to limited access, Brush 21 was added to the call for manpower. Chief 23 shuffled equipment from Rescue 25 to the scene due to road conditions at the scene. Crews utilized a Stokes Basket and Z-Rig to rescue the occupant and was taken to an awaiting Christian County Ambulance District EMS unit.

At this scene, the temperature was -7 degrees. In extreme temperatures, frostbite and hypothermia can happen just as fast as accidents do. If you don't need to be out, stay home and warm.

As always, if you need us, your Nixa Firefighters are ready to serve you!
