A statement made by Podcast host Shawn Ryan has led to a response by Branson-based Kanakuk Kamps.
In January, Ryan interviewed Elizabeth Phillips, a founder of an advocacy group whose brother committed suicide after being one of the victims of Kanakuk Counselor Pete Newman, who is currently in prison convicted of the molestation of several campers.
In recapping the interview, Ryan says that he and Phillips talked about how thousands of campers over the years have been abuse at the camp.
In a response page on the Kanakuk’s website, they acknowledge the dark chapter in their history but dispute the claim of thousands of victims.
Kanakuk attorneys are demanding an apology and retraction from Ryan over the statements
