The death of two people north of Branson Friday evening is still under investigation by the Taney County Sheriff's Department.
Sheriff' Brad Daniels reported via the Department's Facebook page that dispatch received a call around 6:00 pm Friday of shots fired at a residence near Rinehart Road. Officers discovered two individuals that were deceased at the scene. Daniels say further details would be released as the investigation continues. The names of the victims have not yet been released but officials have classified this incident at a murder-suicide.
In a separate post, the Boys and Girls Club of the Ozarks reports that their Branson Unit, located on Bee Creek Road near the site of the shooting incident, were notified by Taney County Ambulance of the shooting and went on lockdown for about 20 minutes until the all-clear was given by law enforcement.
