Summertime pop-up showers and thunderstorms have already begun to develop in the Lakes Region over the last few days.
The National Weather Service, in a release on their website, outline how the storms can develop even on days with little or no rain chances. Solar Heating throughout the day and moist air can combine to have isolated storms develop for brief periods of time. While most of those storms do not develop into severe storms, they can produce lighting and flash flooding.
Several of those storms developed over parts of the Lakes Region late last week and through the weekend and more is in the forecast for this week.
More information on the storms can be seen with the picture attached to this story.
