A Lawrence County Case is resolved in a Stone County Court after a change of venue.
According to online court documents, Lance Bishop of Aurora has been sentenced to a total of five years in prison as he entered an Alford Plea to charges of first-degree terrorist threating, unlawful use of a weapon, first degree harassment, and resisting arrest.
The Charges stem from an incident in December of last year when Bishop had been threating a person at a residence. After officers from the Aurora-Marionville Police Department came to the scene, Bishop began threating them and eventually lead to a several hour standoff which eventually ended in his arrest.
The Alford Plea means that Bishop is not admitting guilt on the charges but concedes that their is sufficient evidence against his to be convicted of the charges.
