Another swim beach on Beaver Lake has closed due to high E. coli levels in the water.
According to the release from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Beaver Lake Project Office, the higher than acceptable E. coli levels were found during routine testing conducted by project office personnel. The corps has posted signs indicating high bacteria levels at the swim beach. Park rangers will reopen the swim beach when test results indicate bacteria levels are within an acceptable range.
Two other beaches, Prairie Creek and Horseshoe Bend Campgrounds and Day Use areas remain closed. The areas were closed following the May 2024 storms though one boat launch ramp in each park remains open to the public according to the release from the corps.
