William “Bill” Alvin Byrd, age 60, passed away on April 2, 2026.

William “Bill” Alvin Byrd, 60, of Hollister, Missouri, passed away suddenly on April 2, 2026. He entered this life on August 21, 1965, in Rolla, Missouri, the son of Claude and Nadine (West) Byrd. Bill was united in marriage on September 22, 1984, to Rosella Rena Canterbury.

Bill loved the outdoors, especially camping and hunting. Some of his favorite moments were spent grilling, hosting fish fries, gathering around bonfires, and traveling with those he loved. He was a devoted NASCAR fan and could often be found enjoying a ride in his UTV whenever he had the chance. Bill was a member of New Beginnings Fellowship Church and will be greatly missed and remembered forever.

He was preceded in death by his father, Claude Byrd, Sr.; mother and stepfather, Nadine and Rolla Waisner; and brother, Claude “Eddie” Byrd, Jr.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Rena Byrd; their daughter, Brandi (Andy) Ward of Forsyth, Missouri; daughter, Sarah (Kevin Teter) Byrd of Hollister, Missouri; daughter, Cheri Byrd of Hollister, Missouri; daughter, Karah Byrd of Hollister, Missouri; and daughter, Izabellah Byrd of Forsyth, Missouri. He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Grady, Brandt, Wyatt, Adalynn, Maverick, Bronco, and one on the way (Ranger); great-grandchild, Haven; seven brothers and sisters: Betty (Joe) Wood, Judy Pryor, Jeannie Byrd, Susan (Don) Kirk, Mark (Vicki) Byrd, Tammie (Rob) Finney, and Pam (Jack) Shepherd; and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at 3:00 p.m. with a celebration of life to follow at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, April 19, 2026, at New Beginning Fellowship, 151 W. Elm St., Hollister, Missouri. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.
