Velma Thurman, 93 of Forsyth, MO

Services for Velma Thurman will be Wednesday, August 25, 2021 with visitation beginning at 1:00 P.M. and funeral services at 2:00 P.M. in Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson with Sue Clayton officiating.  Burial will follow in Snapp Cemetery, Forsyth.

Velma Ruth Thurman was born March 14, 1928 in Kissee Mills, the daughter of Wesley Morey and Mable (Williams) Morey. Velma was a life-long resident and enjoyed many of the things Taney County has to offer like mushroom hunting, deer hunting, camping and fishing.  She was a member of Sardis General Baptist Church and also served at White River Association Camp in the kitchen.  Velma always had a beautiful garden and loved growing flowers.  She loved time with her family and having gatherings with them.  She was a strong and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who will be deeply missed.

Velma entered into rest on Friday, August 20, 2021 in Forsyth at the age of 93.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clarence A. Thurman, son, Kenneth Thurman, brothers Garland Clarkson and Gordon Clarkson and sisters Jeannie Parker and Edna Dean.

Velma is survived by her son, Patrick Thurman and wife Carolyn of Forsyth; brother Floyd Clarkson and wife Debbie of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
