Russell “Roger” Cox, Sr. 73 of Branson.

Russell “Roger” Cox, Sr. 73 of Branson entered into rest on Oct. 10, 2022 at Cox Medical Center Branson. Services will be held Oct. 21, 2022 at 4PM at the Riverdale Baptist Church, Nixa, Mo. Pastor Jamie Bilyeu will officiate. Internment of cremains will be held at a later date in the Van Wert Cemetery, Van Wert, Iowa. Cremation was under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson, Mo.

Russell Roger Cox, Sr. was born Dec. 9, 1948 in Osceola, Iowa to Russell Victor and Barbara June (Hamilton) Cox.   He graduated from the Belen High School in Belen, New Mexico.  Roger married the love of his life Gladys Kuykendall on Dec. 10, 1966 in Belen, New Mexico.  They celebrated fifty-five years together last December.  They had lived in Bentonville, Ark. for many years before moving to Branson.  He attended the Riverdale Baptist Church in Nixa Mo., where he faithfully served and grew in Christ.

Roger was very active during his life from being a machinist, owner of an auto parts store, heavy equipment operator working in residential building to landscaping. His hobby was woodworking. Roger’s enjoyment with life was his family and all the grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Roger is survived by his wife Gladys Cox of the home; two sons and their wives Russell Cox, Jr. (Lori) of Branson; Darrell Cox (Lynn) of Cave Springs, Arkansas; a sister and husband Dixie South (George) of Elm Springs, Ark.; one granddaughter and husband Kennedy Lynn Cox (Bo), four grandsons and wives  Andrew Cox (Noelle), Matthew Cox (Kristina),  Jacob Cox (Jessie) and Tanner Cox (Kinsey) and seven great grandchildren.
