Robert "Bob" Norman Mishmash...

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Robert "Bob" Norman Mishmash, longtime resident of Hollister, Missouri, who passed away on September 13, 2024.

Born in Kansas City, Missouri, Bob grew up in the town before moving to Hollister, where he would spend many cherished years living on a hill that overlooked the community he grew to love. Though his family ties were few, he had a deep connection to the people and places that surrounded him. For many years, Bob was the proud owner of Mishmash Coin Laundry Service, a beloved local establishment. His dedication to serving the community through his business earned him a place in the hearts of many in Hollister.

Bob had a wide array of passions. He was an avid outdoorsman, who spent his winters camping in Texas, and he often sought solace at Table Rock Lake, where he enjoyed scuba diving. He also spent countless hours floating on local rivers and streams, always finding joy in the water. In addition to his love for nature, Bob was a licensed pilot. For many years, he flew a private plane to several places including between Hollister and Kansas City to visit his mother, Cleota Marie Mishmash, while she was alive, demonstrating his deep devotion to her.

Though his immediate family was small, Bob’s love for his mother and his community was boundless. His work ethic, adventurous spirit, and friendly demeanor will live on in the memories of the Hollister community and those who knew him.

Bob will be missed by his neighbors, friends, and those who shared his love for the outdoors. Though his journey has come to an end, his spirit will remain a part of the rivers, lakes, and landscapes he cherished so dearly.

A celebration of life will be held at the Historic Depot pavilion Hollister, Missouri, on October 6, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. Cake and punch will be served. Memorial donations can be made in his honor to local conservation efforts, reflecting his passion for preserving nature’s beauty. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks. To leave an online condolence or share a memory, please visit www.cremationsoftheozarks.com.
