Michael Lance Cookson, age 48, of Cassville, Missouri passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Mercy Hospital Cassville in Cassville, Missouri.
He was born January 17, 1975 in Decatur, Illinois the son of Darrel and Betty Jean (Puerta) Cookson. On July 8, 2023 in Cassville, Missouri he was united in marriage to Laura Tolbert, who survives. Also surviving are his mother, Betty Jean Rojas and stepfather Leonico; two stepdaughters, Rebecka Jones of Claremore, Oklahoma and Stephany Newman of Claremore, Oklahoma; one half-brother, Albert Rojas of Independence, Missouri; one sister, Leanna Hoffman and her husband Chris of Kansas City, Missouri and two grandchildren, Koston and Rivean.
Preceding him in death was his father, Darrel Cookson.
Michael lived most of his life in Cassville, Missouri. He was employed by Palleton Of Kansas Sawmill in Exeter, Missouri as a sawyer for eight years. Michael enjoyed camping, fishing and riding bulls, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Private services will be held at a later date. Cremations arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
