Marilyn Jane Waibel

Marilyn Jane Waibel...

Marilyn Jane Waibel was born on January 22, 1932 in Fairfield, Iowa.  She was the daughter of Victor & Hazel Mason.  Marilyn grew up in Iowa and started her young adult life there before moving to Kansas City.  In Kansas City, she worked and retired from Western Electric, now AT&T.

Marilyn was an amazing mom.  She raised her own children much on her own, working multiple jobs to provide for them.  She was also a mom to others, helping to raise the next generations of her family including nieces and nephews and her granddaughter and great-granddaughter.  Her love and giving nature knew no bounds.

Marilyn was an elegant and classic woman.  She enjoyed shopping and physical activity which lately was walking three miles a day but in her younger years had also involved playing basketball and running.  The two greatest things in Marilyn’s life were her family and her relationship with God.  She had been a faithful member of Skyline Baptist Church and served in multiple ways at the church.  More recently, she and her husband Bill had attended First Baptist Church in Branson.

Marilyn entered into Heaven on May 15, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Bill Waibel, who passed 6 days before her on May 9. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Melanie Smith, her parents, siblings, and Bill’s son, William Waibel, III.

Marilyn’s life and legacy are celebrated by her children, Bill Harness of Branson, Cynthia Noblit of Surprise, AZ, Dennis Harness of Sedona, AZ; her husband Bill’s daughters, Joanna McBride (Sean) of Temecula, CA and Jenny King (Brian) of Tipton, IA and her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorial services for Marilyn and Bill will be held on Monday, May 20, 2024, 11:00 AM at Friendship Freewill Baptist Church, 3196 E. State Hwy 76, Branson, MO 65616.

Cremation arrangements are in the care of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory, Branson.
