Marie Lucretia Christian, age 81, of Merriam Woods, Missouri

Marie Lucretia Christian, age 81, of Merriam Woods, Missouri, passed away at home with family nearby, September 17, 2023. She entered this life April 23, 1942, in Hamburg, Iowa, the daughter of Carl and Peral (White) Powers.

Marie worked as a surgical technician at Grape Community Hospital in Hamburg, Iowa until retirement. She was a devoted Christian and member of Victor Baptist Church in Branson, Missouri. Marie could be found watching old western movies and sharing the love of her Lord and Savior whenever she had the opportunity. Her love for her family was unmatched, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She will continue to be held in all her loved one’s hearts as the amazing, loving woman she was.

Marie is preceded in death by her parents, Carl Powers and Pearl Powers-Copely; husband, Hershel Christian; sister Juanita Kuhlman; and two brothers: Calvin and Barney Powers; nieces, Bobbie Henyan and Gina Powers; nephew, Derek Edmonds.

Marie is survived by three step-children; several grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a sister in law, Jean Mensen; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday 2:00 p.m. September 30, 2023, at Victor Baptist Church in Branson, Missouri, with Pastor Kenny Robinette officiating and another service later in Hamburg, Iowa.
