Margie Irene Dalton, age 77, of Washburn, MO.

Margie Irene Dalton, age 77, of Washburn, MO passed peacefully in her home on August 9, 2022 with family by her side.

Irene, as she was known to her family and friends, was born on September 21, 1944, to Willis Harold and Nancy Irene (Evans) Edmonson in Fayetteville, AR. On June 1st, 1962, she was united in marriage to her husband of 60 years, Edward Ray Dalton. To this union two children were born, Sheri Lynn and Gregory Ray.

Irene attended Exeter High School until her Junior year when she left school to marry Ed. However, she did work very hard to earn her GED in 1993 for which she was so very proud of. She worked at various retail and factory jobs in California, Arkansas and Missouri, but spent the majority of her time working for Daisy Mfg in Rogers, AR for 25 years. She loved making friends with her co-workers and she cherished friendships at every job position she held.

Irene was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family as much as possible. She loved to cook and she insisted that you never left her house on an empty stomach. She also enjoyed listening to gospel, country and bluegrass music, reading, doing embroidery, watching birds, tending to the flowers in her yard and taking long drives through the countryside with Ed.

She is survived by her husband, Edward Dalton, of the home. One daughter, Sheri Epling and husband, Mark, of Washburn. Two grandsons, Jacob (Jake) Epling and wife, Kate, of Washburn and Jordan Epling, of Noel, MO. One great-granddaughter, lrelynn Marlee, and one bonus great-granddaughter, Sofia Marie. One brother, Lee Edmonson and wife, Dana, of Anderson, MO. Irene was also a loving Sister In Law as well as Aunt and Great-Aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Nancy Edmonson, her two beloved sisters, Bernice Burnette and Frances Taylor and by her precious son, Gregory Ray Dalton.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday August 15, 2022 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Chaplain Jack Betts will conduct the services. Burial will immediately follow at Roller Cemetery in Washburn, MO.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until service time Monday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Irene Dalton as she and Ed loved all children and made donations to this charity often.
