Margaret Anne Chronister

Margaret Anne Chronister, March 2, 1933 – July 21, 2022.

“Anne” was born at home to Adam Raye Kramar and Lois Sprinkle Kramar on the outskirts of the Township of Silsbee in rural El Centro California. She was the fourth of six children. 

She attended Silsbee school and Central Union High School. She graduated in 1950 and continued her education on the same campus for two years of junior college. She married Gerald Braley in 1953 and made their home in rural El Centro after he was discharged from the United States Navy. She bore eight children, five daughters and three sons.

She was a member of the Church of Christ. She loved to sing and had a beautiful soprano voice. She loved to travel and lived in the Imperial Valley of California for more than half of her life. She lived in Goshen California from approximately 1973 to 1983 then moved to the Branson, Missouri area until 2017 when she came home to El Centro to live with her daughter the last five years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three siblings, Beth Kirby, Glenn and Stephen Kramar. Three husbands, Gerald L. Braley, Wilburn (Bill) Hobbs and Donald S. Chronister, two children, Margaret and Gerald Junior, a grandson and a great grandson. She is survived by brothers Bill Kramar of E. Wenatchee, Washington and Joel Kramar of Forest, Virginia. She is also survived by daughters Mary Crow of El Centro, Roberta Thompson of Omaha, Arkansas, Louise Baker of El Centro, sons James Braley and William Braley both of El Centro and youngest daughter Diane Mathis of Ozark, Missouri. 20 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.

A celebration of Anne’s life will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Omaha Church of Christ, 110 Maple St., Omaha, AR 72662.  Following the service, a potluck will be held at the church.  Family and friends are invited to bring a dish and share a time of food, fellowship and remembering Anne.
