Mae Ruth Leeper, age 89, of Cassville, Missouri

          Mae Ruth Leeper, age 89, of Cassville, Missouri passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Roaring River Health and Rehabilitation in Cassville, Missouri.

            She was born December 24, 1933 in Willard, Missouri the daughter of Earl and Nellie (Baker) Boatman. On August 1, 1953 in Walnut Grove, Missouri she was united in marriage to Joe Leeper, who preceded her in death on May 14, 1988. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one brother, Robert Boatman and one sister, Opal Hope.

            Surviving are two sons, Patrick Leeper and his wife Patricia of Springfield, Missouri and Kevin Leeper and his wife Sherry of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two daughters, Teresa Lozo of Helix, Oregon and Janet Simpkins and her husband Jeff of Ozark, Missouri; one brother, James Boatman of Lebanon, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Clara Leeper of Walnut Grove, Missouri and Gail Boatman of Fordland, Missouri; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

            Mae attended school in Walnut Grove, Missouri graduating from Walnut Grove High School. In 1958 she and Joe moved to Cassville where they made their home and raised their children. She was employed as a layout artist by Litho Printers in Cassville for 15 years. Mae enjoyed decorating cakes, gardening, tending to her flowers, reading and watching horse racing. In her earlier years she was an exceptional bowler. More than anything Mae loved her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

            Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 15, 2023 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Rick Cooper will conduct the services.

            Contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Cassville in memory of Mae.
