Lucille Blanche “Lu” Brown

Lucille Blanche “Lu” Brown, age 82, Wheaton, Missouri

Lucille Blanche “Lu” Brown entered into Eternal Rest surrounded by family on July 8, 2023 at her home in Wheaton, Missouri after a short illness.

Mrs. Brown was born September 13, 1940 in Kansas City, Missouri the daughter of Elmer Morris and Zilphia Caselman Morris.

Lucille worked at Sears and Roebuck Company where she met the sailor boy that she had always dreamed of, Otto John Brown. They were united in marriage on October 19, 1973 in Miami, Oklahoma, he preceded her in death on April 6, 2005. Although John and Lucille never had any children of their own, they had many nieces and nephews and local children they loved to spoil.

Lucille was well known around the small town of Wheaton, Missouri. She would make her rounds around town daily talking to anyone who would listen. She was The Grand Marshall of the Wheaton Christmas Parade in 2020 and was pretty proud of that honor. Lucille would give you her last dime if she thought you needed it and she loved surprising friends and family with gifts. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Wheaton. She loved her church family and loved to talk to anyone who would listen about her Lord and Savior. If you asked her to pray for you or anyone else, there was no doubt that she would go straight to her prayer chair.

Survivors include her beloved fur baby, Bella; two brothers, Joe Morris and Billy Morris; three sisters, Patty Kioh, Marilyn Morrison and Therese Oswald and many, many nieces, nephews and greats.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, John; three brothers, Elmer Morris, Leroy Morris and Dallas Gulley and six sisters, Louise Shinkle, Peggy Shisler, Betty Harris, Sonja Heath, Mary Bragaw and Myrtle Martin.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 15, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Wheaton, under direction of McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton. Pastor Mark Hall and Pastor Kenneth Carney will conduct the services. Burial will be at Dice Cemetery in Fairview, Missouri.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until service time Saturday at First Baptist Church in Wheaton.

Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Lu.
