Leonard Elmond Griffis, age 83, of Cassville, Missouri

          Leonard Elmond Griffis, age 83, of Cassville, Missouri passed away Sunday, January 1, 2023 at Roaring River Health and Rehabilitation in Cassville, Missouri.

            He was born in Van, West Virginia the son of Melburn and Erslie Ellen (Green) Griffis. On March 1, 1974 he was united in marriage to Janeta “Ann” Buntin, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Calvin Griffis and his wife Mary of Cassville, Missouri; one daughter, Karen Capps and her husband Kevin of Springfield, Missouri; one sister, Mary Good of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; five grandchildren, Rusty, Jennifer, Emily, Erica and Jonathan and fourteen great-grandchildren.

            Preceding him in death were his parents; one sister, Sylvia Hayworth; two brothers, Willie Griffis and Junior Griffis and two infant sisters.

            At the age of six Leonard moved with his family to Cassville, Missouri where he attended school in Cassville. He had worked several jobs before being employed by FASCO Industries in Cassville as a tool and die maker from where he retired. Leonard enjoyed raising his cattle, fishing and hunting but he most enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Leonard was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.

            Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, January 6, 2023 at Corinth Baptist Church in Cassville, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Donnie Spears will conduct the services. Burial will be at Corinth Cemetery in Cassville, Missouri.

            The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:00 P.M. at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.

            Contributions may be made to Corinth Baptist Church in memory of Leonard.
