 Kenneth Loyd Patton, age 97, of Monett, Missouri

         Kenneth Loyd Patton, age 97, of Monett, Missouri passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Missouri.

            He was born April 12, 1926 in Purdy, Missouri the son of Roy L. and Harriett (Cochran) Patton. On October 18, 1965 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa he was united in marriage to Monica Johanna Smith, who preceded him in death on June 24, 2012. Also preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers and two sisters.

            Surviving are one daughter, Karen J. Green of Iowa City, Iowa; one stepson, Kenna Hall and his wife Cathy of Hiawatha, Iowa; one stepdaughter, Margaret “Marty” Garland and her husband Frosty of Cassville, Missouri; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

            Kenneth grew up and attended school in Cassville, Missouri graduating from Cassville High School. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Army serving during World War II in the South Pacific. He earned the Purple Heart and Silver Star. Upon returning home he was employed by Midland Forge in Cedar Rapids, Iowa as a foreman for several years. Kenneth enjoyed fishing and hunting.

            Private services will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
