Juanita Chloe Weathers, age 88, Washburn, Missouri.

Juanita Chloe Weathers, age 88, Washburn, Missouri, passed away Thursday, October 14, 2021 at her home in Washburn.

She was born January 8, 1933 in Stotts City, Missouri, the daughter of Samuel D. and Lydia Beatrice (Johnson) Porter.  On February 3, 1950 in Bentonville, Arkansas she was united in marriage to Charles Weathers, who preceded her in death on March 10, 2017.  Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Ray Porter, Carl Porter and James Porter.

Surviving are two sons, Sam Leon Weathers and his wife Charlotte of St. Robert, Missouri and Johnny Newman Weathers and his wife Kathy of Washburn, Missouri; three grandchildren, Rebecca Parvin, Travis Weathers and Lora Vanzandt; four great grandchildren, Scott Parvin, Morgan Kiourkas, Cassidy Weathers and Gavin Weathers; one great great grandaughter, Aryia Kiourkas; two brothers, Jack Porter and Charles Porter and four sisters, Dorothy Webb, Marilyn Lawrence, Margaret Rose and Vicki Holland.

Chloe attended Paisly and Washburn schools.  She was saved at the age of fourteen at Corinth Baptist Church, was a charter member of Mount Zion Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for sixty-seven years and enjoyed it all.  She worked for American News Company in Wichita, Kansas for twelve years, Barry County Lumber in Cassville for ten years, John’s Country Store in Washburn for ten years and OACAC in Cassville for twelve years from where she retired.  She lived in Barry County most of her life and was an active member of the community.

In her own words, “My children, grandchildren, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews and friends, love one another but most of all give your life to Jesus, ‘He loves you.’” Chloe.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 6:00 P.M. Monday, October 18, 2021 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. 

Contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Chloe.
