Jean Marney

Jean Marney, age 80, of Exeter, Missouri.

Jean Marney, age 80, of Exeter, Missouri passed away Monday, October 24, 2022 at Select Specialty Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.

She was born January 31, 1942 in Neosho, Missouri the only child of Horace Austin and Clara Mae (Scantlin) Bowman. In 1957 in Miami, Oklahoma she was united in marriage to John Marney, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Tim Marney and his wife Sarah of Cassville, Missouri, Stan Marney of Purdy, Missouri and Mike Marney and his wife Karen of Purdy, Missouri; six grandchildren, Jennifer Privett, Kyla Curry, Kara Metts, Cody Marney, Clinton “Clyde” Marney and T.J. Marney; thirteen great grandchildren; one great great grandson and one great great grandaughter coming in December.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Jean grew up and attended school in Exeter, Missouri. She was a homemaker, worked at her brother-in-law’s meat processing plant, Wheaton Frozen Foods, Field’s Photography where she worked for thirteen years as a clerk and at Jan’s Fashions for a short time before working at Fohn Funeral Home. Jean and John were high school sweethearts and they had been married for sixty-five years. She was active in the General Federation of Women’s Clubs for forty years, the local Silver Leaf Benefit Club and she held positions in local, district and state offices. Jean enjoyed working in her flower garden and going to the beach but most of all she loved spending time with her family especially her grandkids.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 28, 2022 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Brother Tony Ball will conduct the services. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter, Missouri.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
