Janita “Kay” Carter, age 67, of Cassville, Missouri passed away Monday, February 27, 2023 at her home.
She was born November 30, 1955 in St. Joseph, Missouri the daughter of Wesley and Judith Alice Ruth. On December 9, 1989 in Columbus, Nebraska she was united in marriage to Jimmy Lee Carter, who preceded her in death in March of 2012. Also preceding her in death were her parents and one daughter, Katherine Weyer.
Surviving are one daughter, Melissa West and her wife Nikki of Cassville, Missouri; one brother, George Ruth and his wife Joann of St. Joseph, Missouri; one sister, Edna Williamson of Kansas City, Kansas; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Janita grew up in St. Joseph, Missouri and attended St. Joseph High School. She was employed by Cassville Healthcare and Rehabilitation as a Medical Technician. Janita enjoyed playing on the computer and spending time outside.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Spring River Cemetery in Verona, Missouri, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
