James Lee “Jim” McCoy, Sr., age 69, of Shell Knob, Missouri
James Lee “Jim” McCoy, Sr., age 69, of Shell Knob, Missouri passed away Friday, May 5, 2023 at his home.
He was born April 7, 1954 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of Eugene and Helen (Spratley) McCoy. On May 30, 1987 in Smithville, Missouri he was united in marriage to Mary Anderson, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Ernie Gauger of Leavenworth, Kansas, James McCoy, Jr. of Kansas City, Missouri and Nick McCoy of Kansas City, Missouri; one daughter, Stephanie Ferguson and her husband Ken of Kansas City, Missouri; one brother, Rick McCoy of Kansas City, Missouri; one sister, Mildred Anderson and her husband Jewel of Weston, Missouri; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and his special dog, Sissy.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Jim grew up and attended school in Kansas City, Missouri graduating from North Kansas City High School. He was employed by the United States Postal Service as an office administrator for several years, retiring in 2014. Jim loved animals and enjoyed fishing and camping. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
Services will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
