Inez Charlene Martin, born May 7, 1934 in Chanute, Kansas, passed away peacefully in Springfield, Missouri, on November 22, 2023, leaving behind a rich legacy filled with love, faith, and devotion to family.

Charlene was the beloved daughter of John and Velma Chaffee. After graduating high school in her hometown, Charlene furthered her education at the University of Missouri Kansas City. On December 24, 1952, she married the love of her life, Gene Martin, in Kansas City. She skillfully worked as the bookkeeper in the Gene F. A faith-filled woman, Charlene was a member of the First Baptist Church in Raytown as well as Swope Park Baptist Church before moving to southwest Missouri. For Charlene, church was a place of worship, growth, fellowship and service.

Charlene enjoyed the adventures of the road. She and her husband Gene often traveled in their RV, creating precious memories. An avid reader, Charlene found great joy in the pages of mystery novels. Landscaping, too, emerged as a hobby that Charlene enjoyed.

Charlene leaves behind her children, Steve Martin and wife Patricia of Koshkonong, MO and Linda Crow and husband Ken of Lampe, MO; her grandchildren Elizabeth, Jason, Michele, Treva, April, and her great-grandchildren Elijah, Zephaniah, Oliver, Ashton, and Skylar.
