  Homer “Dean” Curbow, 82 of Omaha, AR

  Homer “Dean” Curbow, 82 of Omaha, AR moved to his heavenly home on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Cox Medical Center Branson.

   He was born July 28, 1940 to Joe and MaryLee (Wallace) in Ridgedale, MO. and attended Hollister schools. 

   On November 25, 1962; Dean was united in marriage to Shirley Davidson at Liberty Assembly of God Church in Boone County, Arkansas.

   Dean became a Christian at a young age  and always looked for ways to help others.  His home church was Ridgedale Assembly of God Church.

   He was the operator of “Gravel Gertie” barge on Lake Taneycomo for many years.

   Dean enjoyed his cattle farm in Omaha, Arkansas where he also raised chickens for Tyson Foods.

   He loved playing the mandolin with his siblings, and often played bluegrass Christian music in church and always at any family “get together”.

    He enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors but most of all, he cherished time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

   Dean is survived by his wife of sixty years, Shirley, son, Robert Curbow of Omaha, AR, daughters, Frances Blevins (Lawrence) of Omaha, Sharon Hughey (Randy) of Taneyville, Mo.   Four grandchildren; Jamie, Cullen, Allison, James; and  five great grandchildren, Bailynn, Hadley, Tate, Abram and Addilyn.  Brother, Darrell (Shirlene) Curbow of Bergman, AR, Sisters; Daisy (Ron ) Morris of Earlton, KS, Lillie Parton of Lampe, MO, Lotus (Jerry) Parton of Lampe, MO, Iris (Jerald) Fitzwater of Hollister, MO and Pansy Daniel of Harrison AR. 

   He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers; Joe Lee, Ray, Bert, Rex, and four sisters, Violet, Rose, Fern, and Rachel Ivy.

   Visitation will be held Sunday, January 8, 2023 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home, Branson.   Funeral services will be Monday, January 9, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Johnny Atchison and Pastor Al Pulis officiating.  Burial will follow in Goodall Cemetery, Blue Eye, MO.
