Helen “Juanita” Wilson, age 88, of Merriam Woods, Missouri

Helen “Juanita” Wilson, age 88, of Merriam Woods, Missouri, passed away February 8, 2024, at her home with family nearby. She entered this life November 15, 1935, in Cowgill, Missouri, the daughter of Ralph and Helen (Baker) Vanderpool.

Talented with her hands, Juanita made clothing for her family, embroidering, and crocheting. Even though she was not feeling well, this past Christmas she made many decorative mats for her friends. Juanita was known for loving antiques and collecting many items to keep and sell. She worked for 15 years in Westlake Hardware of Columbia, Missouri. Juanita was a wonderful mother, wife, and grandmother, who was a good-natured, happy, Christian woman. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Juanita is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Roy Davis; second husband, Dale Wilson; two sisters: Vita Franklin and Cheryl Davison; two brothers: Raymond Vanderpool and Bobby Ray Vanderpool; and her stepmom, Frances Baker.

Juanita is survived by her two sons: Jesse (Mark Ellis) Davis of Bull Creek, Missouri, and Frankie (Lena) Davis of Millersburg, Missouri; four daughters: Brenda (Gale) Hargrave of St. Joseph, Missouri, Linda Schimmel of Krum, Texas, Cindy Evans of Branson, Missouri, and Glenda (David) Hood of Merriam Woods, Missouri; grandchildren: Dawn (Russell), April (Shane), Chris (Jami), Aaron, Chasity (Michael), Kurt (Izzy), Kari (Phil), Charlie, Jesse Lee (__), Frankie Jr., Anthony (Kimberly), Kimberly (Nathan), Aubrey (Shelly), Michelle; 18 greatgrandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Leland Vanderpool of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; and sister, Deborah Tyler of Memphis, Tennessee.
