Gary Lewis Baxter, age 63, of Monett, Missouri

             Gary Lewis Baxter, age 63, of Monett, Missouri passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Cox Monett Hospital in Monett, Missouri.

            He was born February 11, 1960 in Lawrence, Kansas the son of Howard and Irene (Ray) Baxter. On June 30, 1978 in Purdy, Missouri he was united in marriage to Rita Mackin, who preceded him in death on December 16, 2020. Also preceding him in death were his parents; five brothers, Larry Baxter, Jerry Baxter, John Baxter, George Baxter and Steve Baxter and three sisters, Dorothy Baxter Sigman, Flora Baxter Turkinpile and Arladene “Dede” Mace.

            Surviving are three sons, Chadd Baxter and his wife Ashlee of Purdy, Missouri, Christopher Baxter and his wife Jessica of Republic, Missouri and Zachary Baxter of Monett, Missouri; two sisters Sarah Baxter Hagebusch of Monett, Missouri and Mary Baxter Coy and her husband Tom of Pierce City, Missouri and eight grandchildren.

            Gary attended school in Pierce City, Missouri. He was employed by Architectural Systems, Incorporated in Monett, Missouri as a fabricator for several years. Fishing, camping, watching football and wrestling were favorite pastimes but spending time with his family was what he loved.

            Private services will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
