Garland Dewel “Dude” Davidson, age 90, Taneyville, Missouri

Garland Dewel “Dude” Davidson, 90, Taneyville, entered into rest on Friday, June 23, 2023 at his home. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6-7PM at the Snapp-Bearden Forsyth Chapel, 16560 US Hwy 160, Forsyth. Graveside services will be held Tuesday June 27, 2023 at 10 am in the Helphrey Cemetery, Taneyville.  Pastor Jack Clemans will officiate.  

Garland D. Davidson “Dude” was born March 15, 1933 in Kissee Mills, MO to Larwood and Chassie (Sturgis) Davidson.  He attended Forsyth and Bradleyville schools, graduating from Bradleyville.  Dude married the love of his life Jean Carol Albright on Sept. 7, 1955 in Selah, Washington.  They were blessed with two children.

 He served his country in the United States Air Force. Dude had many occupations during his lifetime but  the one he enjoyed the most was his livestock and farming.  Dude enjoyed playing the guitar, driving around the area and reminiscing about the good old days and telling stories with a chocolate milkshake without whipped topping.  He was a member of the Forsyth Masonic Lodge #485 for over fifty years. Dude attended the Bryant Ridge Church.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Jean Davidson; son Ricky Davidson; a brother Dale Davidson and a sister Geraldine Ellison.

 Dude is survived by his daughter Shelia Burkhart and husband Ricky and daughter-in-law Pam Davidson, all of Taneyville, four grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
