Freda Pearl Luckinbill

Freda Pearl Luckinbill, age 96, Branson, Missouri

Freda Pearl Luckinbill passed away peacefully on December 17, 2023, in Branson, Missouri, at the age of 96. Freda's remarkable journey began on August 10, 1927, in the heart of Guthrie County, Iowa, where she was born to the late Charles Betts and E. Pearl (Crandall) Betts. Her educational path began in the very county of her birth, where she attended country school through the 8th grade, culminating in her graduation from Guthrie Center High School in 1944.

Freda's heart found its match in Walter "Lucky" Luckinbill, to whom she was united in marriage on June 2, 1946. Their lifelong partnership was blessed with four children.

Throughout her career, Freda served diligently as an administrative assistant in an accounting office. Her dedication extended beyond her professional life into her faithful involvement in the Branson United Methodist Church which she was a part of after moving from Independence, Kansas, in 2005. She was a devoted member of BUMC as well as the United Methodist Women, volunteered in the thrift store, and was an integral part of the ham and bean dinners at the church.

Freda's zest for life encompassed her love of technology, whether playing on her computer or mastering her smart phone. She also enjoyed bowling, fishing for catfish, and rooting for the Iowa Hawkeyes, St. Louis Cardinals, and KC Chiefs.

Freda was preceded in death by her parents, Charles & Pearl; husband Walter “Lucky”; son-in-law Gary Snyder, eleven of her siblings, one great-grandson, and one great-great-grandson.

 She leaves behind her children, W. Dale Luckinbill & wife Jo of Rippey, IA, Diane Hovick & husband Larry of Hollister, Kathryn Snyder of Hollister and Kimberlee Parras & husband Oscar of Branson.  Her memory will also be cherished by her twelve grandchildren Lindi Johnson, Dean Keubler, Crysti Brumm, Stacy Luckinbill, Jon Hovick, Tena Hovick, Torre Hovick, Ryan Snyder, Nykki Snyder Wendelin, Jessamy Farmer, Mathew Parras and Anthony Parras along with twenty-seven great grandchildren and sixteen great-great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed and remembered for her faith, devotion, and unwavering love.

 Her life will be celebrated on Thursday, December 21, 2023 with services at the Branson United Methodist Church.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 am with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at a later date in Orange Township Cemetery, Iowa.

 In honor of Freda, memorials are suggested to the renovation of the chapel at Branson United Methodist Church, 1208 W. 76 Country Blvd., Branson, MO 65616.
