Earnestine “Ernie” Jones, age 82, Branson, Missouri

Earnestine “Ernie” Jones passed on to eternal life on June 13th at 11:11 AM at the age of 82.

She was a very devoted and loving mother who came to know Jesus at a young age. She was a life long resident of Branson, Missouri. Earnestine was born in Blue Eye, Arkansas on February 4th, 1941, to her parents Ray Arlie and Treva Odean Parton. She married Willis Eugene Jones on January 2, 1959 after graduating from Blue Eye High School. They had two children, Tina Jones Gideon and Rodney Eugene Jones. Together they owned Branson Auto Parts for 20 years. She made hundreds of life long friends while selling Avon for 20 years. Loved attending The Blue Eye Reunion every year to catch up with her Blue Eye friends and classmates. She was an active member and leader of the local Tops Club and became a KOP keeping her goals active for many years. She had a big passion for all genres of music and loved playing her piano and singing with her mother and sister. She loved watching cooking shows and enjoyed spending Monday nights preparing home cooked meals for her whole family. She often reminisced about the time she spent babysitting her only grandson, August Cole Gideon. She was a devoted friend who would drive others to run their weekly errands and buy their groceries. She loved dressing up for Halloween and trick or treating with her kids and later in life with her grandson. She loved to watch snow fall from her large picture window, loved all animals and especially her pets. Later in life she loved watching TV and rarely missed an episode of Judge Judy.

Earnestine is survived by her daughter Tina Gideon and husband Tommy Gideon and their son August Gideon. Her son, Rodney Jones and husband Steven Barnett. Many cousins, nephews, nieces and long time friends. Earnestine is preceded in death by her husband, Willis Eugene Jones, her mother Treva Parton, her father Ray Parton and her sister, Carol Jean Whorton.

Her body will be laid to rest at Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery in Branson, Missouri under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory on June 17, 2023 with her close family saying goodbye.
